** IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM FLINT HOUSE REGARDING RETIRED OFFICERS**
The Police Rehabilitation Centre, a registered charity, was established in Hove,Sussex, in 1890 to provide rest and convalescence to injured police officers.
Since moving to Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, in 1988, the Centre has provided additional and very essential forms of active treatment and therapy, to assist officers in returning to duty.
· stress counselling
· general nursing care
There is a fully equipped gymnasium, swimming pool, sauna, spa bath and a bar. Should you wish to relax in peace and quiet, the home is situated in extensive rolling grounds with tremendous views.
Accommodation is fully en-suite with television that includes Sky Sport and Movies. The only stipulation is that your doctor or the Force Medical Advisor recommends a period of convalescence.
The running costs of the Centre are in excess of 3.5 million per year and are met, in the main, by voluntary contributions of police officers themselves.
Nine out of ten police officers are likely to receive an injury during their service and a stay at Flint House with their intensive treatment and care facilities, can promote a faster recovery period. Remember, if you are off sick for a period of 6 months in any 12, you are at risk of having your pay reduced. A short stay of 10 days will rapidly improve your recovery.
If you would like the option of a stay at Flint House in the event of sickness or injury, you should contribute to the Northamptonshire Police Welfare Fund.
